The final event of NELT Educational programme took place in "Kolektiv" Gallery in Belgrade. For second year in a row, NELT Educational programme was conducted as a result of cooperation between Nelt, Nova Iskra and Gallery 12 HUB. Diploma award ceremony for students that attended this year's programme was followed by presentation of programme brochure and a short film that documented full-year overview of held lectures and workshops. The prominent media artist, Niklas Roy from Berlin, was invited as a special guest. He held a four-day workshop about design interactions for students in the “Kolektiv” gallery. Artworks made by students during this workshop were displayed within the exhibition.
NELT Educational programme once again proved that culture and business partnerships do work. Throughout the programme, 21 students from 12 faculties in Belgrade and Novi Sad had the opportunity to attend eight workshops, seven public lectures and a series of study visits and mentoring sessions. This year, two NELT employees who were selected internally, also joined the programme.
“Bringing NELT together with two apparently completely different organizations such as Gallery 12 HUB and Nova Iskra creative hub, speaks of the fact that the importance of this project goes beyond standard corporate moves in the domain of corporate social responsibility in Serbia. For the second year in a row, we have provided an opportunity for talented students to gain some practical skills and education in order to help them start their successful careers through a series of workshops, lectures and mentoring sessions” Marko Milanković, communications manager Nelt Group, said at the opening ceremony of the second generation of the programme.
In line with its corporate social responsibility strategy, NELT supports talented students and helps those who are to be the torchbearers of progress of the entire future society.
“The second generation of NELT Educational programme brought together remarkable participants and inspiring lecturers and mentors. Together, we went through a unique process of joint reflection, cooperation and specific creative experience. We went beyond the boundaries of the expected, and enabled everyone to experience something that formal education does not provide, and that is the focus on creative thinking, multidisciplinary collaboration and communication.” says Nana Radenković, Nova Iskra Creative Hub manager.
Over the past year, participants of the programme had the chance to find out more about techniques of connecting art, new technologies and communication systems throughout teamwork, as well as to exchange experiences and gain practical knowledge in the field of design and new media, in order to be well-prepared for their professional careers. Their mentors were respectable lecturers from Serbia, but also from the region and Europe.
“The new generation of NELT Educational programme gathered a large number of students from different faculties and showed that the need young people have for interdisciplinary networking and gaining practical skills is constantly growing. The experience that partners (Nelt, Gallery 12 HUB and Nova Iskra) have dedicated in order to create program like this, once again confirmed the importance that informal educational models have in preparing young people for starting their careers” says Milica Pekić, curator at the Gallery 12 HUB and program editor of the NELT educational programme.
